FAQ: FAQ

What is counselling?

The term counsellor and psychotherapist are often used interchangeably.   Counselling is recommended for specific issues and situations, such as addiction or grief, and takes place over weeks to several months. It can be a daunting process to begin counselling but you will be supported by me throughout your sessions

What are your fees?

I charge £52 per session - sessions are 50 minutes and I ask that payment is made in advance of sessions.

What happens if I cannot attend my session?

I operate a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel an appointment over 48-hours in advance, I will not charge you for the missed session. If you cancel after that, or if you cannot attend, you will still need to pay for the appointment as we have committed the time and counselling space.   One off cancellations in the event of an emergency are the exception - by agreement.

Are you qualified?

I am a professionally qualified counsellor with a COSCA accredited Diploma in Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and COSCA.  These are UK recognised professional organisations for counsellors and psychotherapists.  I operate a small private practice and work for a small counselling charity.

How can I pay?

I accept payment via BACS transfer and cash - this should be made in advance of your appointment.

How can I book an appointment?

Initial enquires may be made via the contact form, email or mobile phone. I will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours of receipt of this via phone or email.
